Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance make a
study of the economic condition, production cost, availability
and potential growth of agriculture and agri-business.

Whereas, Agriculture is a viable component of the state's
economy. The potential loss or decline in production and value
added products would affect the West Virginia gross state product.

Whereas, Agriculture in West Virginia is an important factor in
the food supply of West Virginia and the world. We need to protect
and embrace the small family farms in West Virginia with help in
diversifying and finding there niche; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance make a study of the economic condition, production cost,
availability and potential growth of agriculture and agri-business.

Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and
Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 2002, on
its finds, conclusions and recommendations, together with drafts of
the any legislation necessary to effectuate its recommendations;
and, be it

Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct this
study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary legislation be
paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on
Government and Finance.
